Beihang University, www.ev.buaa.edu.cn The Alauda Quartet was formed in 2011 by four master students at the Royal Academy of Music in London,all of who demonstrated a passion for chamber music and a desire to explore the repertoire of the stringquartet. Since their formation, the quartet has participated in master-classes given by Richard Ireland, Vanbrugh, Escher, Endellion, Emerson, Emperor and Wihan Quartets. They have also had the pleasure of performing for Sir Colin Davis. As well as master-classes, the Alauda Quartet performs on a regular basis in the UK and in 2012 they enjoyed concert tours in Spain and Italy performing in various music festivals. In February 2012 the Alauda String Quartet was awarded Highly Commended in the Wolfe Wolfinsohn String Quartet Competition of the Royal Academy of Music.
