On the occasion of German National Day of the Federal Republic of Germany, the German Pavilion Gala event was held in Red Square on May 19.

German President, Horst Koehler and his wife, Eva Luise Köhler and numerous important politicians attended this event and delivered gala speeches.

During the event, each guest received one elegant envelop as a part of a raffle. At the end of the Gala, four people won tickets to attend the upcoming spectacle, “The Ring of The Nibelung” presented by Cologne Opera, which will take place in September in Shanghai. To welcome this upcoming opera, four models dressed up as the Valkyries at this gala (see the photo above).

As Germany’s cultural ambassador to Expo 2010 in Shanghai, Cologne Opera in cooperation with Wu Promotion will enlighten audiences in China with a musical masterpiece that highlights the history of music and theatre in Europe.
