From late April to early May, you will listen to sounds of youth and South America that you have NOT always heard! From late April to early May, you will listen to sounds of youth and South America that you have NOT always heard! Neojiba Orchestra was founded by Ricardo Castro in Bahia in 2007, aiming to promote social development and education for teenagers through orchestral music. It is the FIRST Brazilian youth orchestra that performed in Europe. Since its foundation, the orchestra has performed diverse pieces thematizing voices of South America as well as classical repertoires and collaborated with top artists such as Martha Argerich and Maria João Pires. For Neojiba Orchestra’s FIRST China tour, it is going to bring CONTEMPORARY works that features South American vibes, including George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture, Brazilian composer, Neojiba tubist, arranger Jamberê Cerqueira’s own composition Kamaramusik. You will listen to a range of South American sounds! The orchestra will visit Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall on April 29th, Xi’an Concert Hall, Tianjin Grand Theatre, and Shenzhen Concert Hall on May 1st, 3rd, and 5th.
