On 14th and 15th September, the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra joyfully celebrated its "65th Anniversary Tour" under the careful organization of Wu Promotion. Led by Music Director Yu Long, the orchestra travelled to Wuhan and Changsha alongside the Erhu player Lu Yiwen, presenting Zhou Tian's orchestral piece "Duhui" and Chen Qigang's Erhu Concerto "La joie de la souffrance", two new works specially composed for this special anniversary, as well as the famous "Enigma Variations" by British composer Edward Elgar.

Both the audiences at the Wuhan Qintai Concert Hall and Changsha Concert Hall were very enthusiastic and applauded continuously. The Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra paid tribute to these two heroic cities with the encore piece "Pomp and Circumstance Marches". The Changsha concert was praised as "the most uplifting performance in the whole month of September".
