With the aim to bring the best of the world's performing arts to Chinese audiences, Wu Promotion has teamed up with China's largest theatre company, Poly Theatre, to launch a new brand: “Classic Live”.
A new format to enjoy Classical Art! “Classic Live” will create a unique model of performance viewing, with a multi-dimensional art appreciation experience in the form of screenings with complimentary pre-show talks. Each year, the “Classic Live” will screen videos of the international best performances in major theatres of China inviting experts as well to conduct pre-show talks that explain the particularities of each work. In partnership with the largest theatre chain in China! Poly Theatre is the leading theatre management company in China, currently operating 68 theatres nationwide across 58 cities in 21 provinces (including first-tier cities, direct-administered municipalities, and autonomous regions), with over 125 performance venues and 130,000 seats under operation. “Classic Live” will be initially held as a "2021 Special Trial" at the Wuhan Qintai Concert Hall, Changsha Meixi Lake International Culture Art Centre, Shanxi Grand Theatre, Yunnan Grand Theatre, Shenyang Shengjing Grand Theatre, Zhuzhou Shennong Grand Theatre, Maanshan Grand Theatre, Henan Arts Centre, Hangzhou Linping Grand Theatre and Kunshan Grand Theatre. More than 300 HD screenings will be shown at 10 theatres over a period of three months, and in 2022, the first “Classic Live” Season will be officially launched reaching additional theatres across the country through the vast chain of Poly Theatre!
Face to face with the world's best classical art! Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2021, Wu Promotion has built exclusive partnership with many international top groups, such as Wiener Philharmoniker, Berliner Philharmoniker, Staats Oper Under Den Linden, Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro Alla Scala, The Stuttgart Ballet, Mariinsky Theatre, Lucerne Festival, Verbier Festival, Bregenzer Festspiele among many others to guarantee plenty of high-quality resources of performances’ screening that will keep enjoying the audiences.
During the “2021 Special Trial”, 24 HD screenings productions will be presented, including three thematic series of Concert, Opera and Ballet which titles Tchaikovsky Symphony No.4 and No.6 by Herbert von Karajan with Berliner Philharmoniker, Beethoven Symphony No.9 by Leonard Bernstein with Wiener Philharmoniker, La Treaviata from Salzburg Festspiele, Giselle from Teatro alla Scala and so on. The relays will contain several restoration HD screenings, allowing audiences to travel back in time and listen to the inimitable musical sensibilities of master conductors and top artistic groups.
