Under the baton of distinguished conductor Pang Kapang, the final concert of the Suzhou Chinese Orchestra at the Zaryadye Concert Hall (Moscow) became the grand finale of the 22nd Grand Chinese New Year Concert tour, the longest one ever. Within 27 days, the 200 Chinese musicians travelled 16,000 kilometers across 13 cities in 9 countries and gave 13 performances for 13,000 concert-goers.

With the support of the Office of Spring Festival Celebration and the Eurasian Office of Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the China National Arts Fund, and the unreserved care of Embassies and Consulates of the People’s Republic of China in Germany, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and Russia, the 22nd Grand Chinese New Year Concert has brought the Chinese national music and traditional culture overseas.

With Maestro Pang Kapang, the Suzhou Chinese Orchestra visited and performed at Luzern KKL, Kulturpalast Dresden, Laeizhalle Hamburg, Gut Varrel (Stuhr), Theater Bonn, Brussels BOZAR, Teatro Sociale di Como, Schaan (Liechtenstein), Tiroler Festispiele (Erl), Palace of Arts (Budapest), Warsaw Philharmonic, Mariinsky Theatre (St. Petersburg), and Zaryadye Concert Hall (Moscow). The tour has been greatly applauded by the audiences of different cultural backgrounds.

An event worthy of a special mention is the online streaming of the Mariinsky Theatre concert with Medici TV, the world’s largest online streaming platform for classical music, which has drawn attention of music lovers all over the world.
The “Chinese New Year” has been celebrated annually together with the world audiences.
