St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra 2018 China Tour presented the essence of Rachmaninoff

The Russian world class St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra completed their 2018 concert tour in China.

From September 7th to 17th the Russian world class St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, with the 80 years old Maestro Yuri Temirkanov and extraordinary pianist Boris Berezovsky, completed their 2018 concert tour in China. With the support of Xinghai Concert Hall, Shanghai Symphony Hall, Jiangsu Centre for the Performing Arts, Tianjin Grand Theatre and National Centre for the Performing Arts, the Orchestra presented Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.3 and Symphony No.2 enchanting Chinese audiences who truly enjoyed the Maestros work. With this program, the orchestra meant to celebrate the 145th birth year of this great composer. Finally, the orchestra performed Elgar’s famous piece Salut d'Amour as encore for the enthusiastic audience. Over 7,000 music admirers assisted to these five concerts in China. At the end of every concert the prolonged applause fulfilled the hall. Audiences highly praised: “This could be considered as one of the best concerts of the year, Maestro Temirkanov was like a magician. He made the pieces so well arranged and glorious. The pieces of Rachmaninoff are beautiful.”
