Sigrid Trummer was born in Graz in Austria. She studied piano at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Graz and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna among others with Prof. Klara Harrer-Baranyi. Her concert activities as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist have taken her to many European countries as well as to Japan, Canada and the USA. She has been invited to some of the most important international festivals among which, The Bert Brecht Festival in Augsburg, Internationales Gitarrenfestival in Lambach, International Izmir Festival in Turkey, Aspekte Festival in Salzburg and the WienMozart 2006 in Wien. Sigrid Trummer is also a member of the tango-quartet “Tangazo” and the “Artemis Klavierquartett Wien”. Cooperation as a soloist among others with “Nürnberger Symphoniker”, “Ensemble Sofia” (members of “Bulgarische National philharmonie”) and “Sinfonietta dell’ Arte”. Teaching at the “Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität”. Since 1999 Sigrid Trummer often plays works of female composers and three of her recorded CDs was dedicated exclusively to them: 1999 publication of a CD with piano concertos of Dora Pejacevic and Germaine Tailleferre, recorded with the “Nürnberger Symphoniker” under the conductor Manfred Müssauer (Frauentöne vol.1, Renova Classics). 2005 publication of the CD “Fin de Siècle – Klaviermusik österreichischer Komponistinnen” (piano works of Austrian female composers) (Frauentöne vol.5, Renova Classics, 4/4-Verlag) 2005 publication of the CD “Ein unerschöpflicher Reiuchthum – Komponistinnen zur Zeit Mozarts” (piano works of Mozart’s and Haydn’s female contemporaries) (recorded for WIENMOZART 2006) (Frauentöne vol.6, Renova Classics, 4/4-Verlag) Sigrid Trummer lives and works in Vienna.
