Mariangela Vacatello is an internationally acclaimed concert pianist, recognized for her passion, technical ability and magnificent musicality.

She is the winner and finalist of numerous prestigious international prizes and awards such as Van Cliburn International Piano Competition 2009, First Prize Top of the World International Piano Competition 2009, Laureate Prize at the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in 2007, Second Prize at the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in 2005, Second Prize at the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition in 1999, Paloma O'Shea Santander Piano Competition, Third Prize at I.Yun Tongyeon Piano Competition, VII Venice Prize and more.

Born in Naples, Italy, from a family of musicians, Ms. Vacatello made her official debut at the age of fourteen, performing Liszt's First Piano Concerto with the Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra in Milan. Since then, she has appeared as a soloist in the most prestigious venues and festivals worldwide, including the Teatro alla Scala, Parco della Musica Sala Santa Cecilia in Rome, Berlin Konzerthaus, Wigmore Hall in London, Salle Cortot, Societè Chopin at Bagattelles in Paris, Festival Radio France in Montpellier, Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, Bargemusic in NY, Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles, Z.K.M. Great Hall in Pretoria, Linder Auditorium in Johannesburg, Biarritz Festival, Beethoven Saal in Stuttgard, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, Palacio de Festivales in Santander, Lisinsky Hall in Zagreb, Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli Festival in Bergamo and Brescia, Societa dei Concerti in Milan, MiTo Settembre Musica, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence.

Ms. Vacatello has collaborated in chamber music with artists as Rocco Filippini, Gary and Toby Hoffman, Timothy Fain, Ilya Grubert, Natasha Korsakova, Francesco Tamiati, Giovanni Gnocchi Ysaye Quartet and Takacs Quartet and more, as well as Orchestras in Europe, America and South Africa. Her performances have been regularly broadcasted by prestigious radio stations such as Radio France Musique, Musiq3 Belgique, Radio Svizzera Italiana, Radio 3 Italia, Radio Pretoria, ABC Australia, as well as in America radio stations.

Ms. Vacatello started playing the piano at the age of four. After graduating from the "Incontri con il Maestro" International Piano Academy in Imola and the Milan Conservatory of Music with Proff. Franco Scala, Riccardo Risaliti, Piero Rattalino, Paolo Bordoni.

Ms Vacatello has been followed by French pianist Prof. Dominique Merlet and in 2008 she completed the Postgraduate Performance Course at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Prof. Christopher Elton: she has been awarded of the 'ARAM' in May 2015.

Ms. Vacatello participated in master classes with great artists as A.Lonquich, L.Lortie, A.Jasinskj, L.Howard, M.Dalberto, A.Lucchesini, A.Weissenberg, V.Margulis, S.Dorensky and E.Virsaladze.

She was a recipient of the Sterndale Bennett Scholarship, the MBF (Dame Myra Hess Award), the Tillet Trust, Hattori Foundation, the Solti Foundation and the Academie musicale de Villecroze and 2009 Nino Carloni Prize.
