Grammy-award winner WDR Big Band Köln had their first China tour in October, 2016 led by renowned conductor, jazz composer and Grammy-award arranger Vince Mendoza., The Big Band brilliantly presented the charm of contemporary jazz to Chinese audiences. Besides the concert of the BMW Diplomatic Night in Beijing, WDR Big Band Köln was also invited to open the annual jazz festivals in Shanghai and Guangzhou. In Zhongshan, the last destination of the tour, WDR Big Band Köln played together with a local orchestra and individual jazz lovers, a happening which will remain a great memory for all participants.
