Staatskapelle Dresden Appearing at 43th Hong Kong Arts Festival

As one of the world's oldest orchestras, Staatskapelle Dresden, made an appearance at Hong Kong Cultural Center.


Staatskapelle Dresden is performing at Hong Kong Arts Festival

As one of the world’s oldest orchestras, Staatskapelle Dresden, made an appearance at Hong Kong Cultural Center on February 27th and 28th, and raised the curtain of the 43rd Hong Kong Arts Festival. 

Prior to the official performances, a special program for children “Von Tuten und Blasen voll die Ahnung! - Die Blechbläser” was first displayed. Artists from Dresden Staatskapelle, who donned odd clothing and wore funny makeup, introduced various brass instruments to the young audiences.

Under the baton of chief conductor Christian Thielemann, the orchestra feasted Hong Hong audiences with many resonant German and Austrian works, inculding Richard Strauss’ Metamorphosen and Ein Heldenleben, Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll, Bruckner’s Symphony No. 9 in D Minor and other classic works.
