Dear firends, In 2014, Wu Promotion is expanding their platform for promoting the performing arts as well as developing its international brand. Our 2014 Programme book collects all the exciting projects scheduled for 2014 both in China and abroad and previews some of the events in the pipeline for 2015. Flipping through the book, you will find many highlights for 2014. On the occasion of Richard Strauss’ 150th anniversary, the Gürzenich Orchestra of Cologne will perform the Alpine Symphony under the baton of its principal conductor Markus Stenz. The orchestra will also present Wagner’s Die Walküre with renowned vocalists Lance Ryan, Eric Halfvarson and Anja Kampe in Shanghai; The National Theatre of Scotland together with the Royal Shakespeare Company will present Dunsinane. Ballet groups include the Dutch National Ballet and the Birmingham Royal Ballet will tour Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Macau and other cities. Wu Entertainment will also bring Chinese audiences many family-oriented programmes including the Semianyki from Russia, Percossa from the Netherlands, Ju Percussion and the Czech Black Light Theatre. The Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Peking Opera Theatre Company of Beijing and other groups will take the best of Chinese Culture to the international audience; the 17th Grand Chinese New Year Concert will start in Switzerland and perform in 5 European countries. In order to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the famous Peking Opera master Mr. Mei Lanfang, the Peking Opera Theatre Company of Beijing will launch a world tour under the leadership of Mr. Mei Baojiu, Mei Lanfang’s son. The Beijing Symphony Orchestra will tour in South America. The National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing will partner with the Peking Opera Theatre Company of Beijing to take a massive production of Red Cliff to the United States in summer 2014.
