Organized by Wu Promotion, the Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg embarked on an international tour from November to December, visiting China, Vietnam, India, and Egypt, and presenting audiences with a ballet spectacle that seamlessly combined literary depth with striking visual impact.

The tour opened in China, spanning four cities—Beijing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, and Shanghai—with a total of 12 performances. They presented ballet by Boris Eifman, including Anna Karenina, marking the 20th anniversary of its premiere, alongside Beyond Sin, a powerful ballet adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s literary masterpiece. Through highly charged physical expression and intense dramatic structure, the performances immersed audiences in Eifman’s signature aesthetic of “psychological ballet”, earning an enthusiastic response from audiences.

Following the conclusion of the China tour, the company continued its Asia–Africa tour, traveling to Vietnam and India, where it presented its classic production Anna Karenina to local audiences. The tour concluded in Egypt, where the company staged The Pygmalion Effect.

Renowned for its powerful dramatic structure and emotional intensity, the Eifman Ballet continues to promote cross-cultural artistic exchange. This tour, spanning China, Vietnam, India and Egypt, not only highlighted the company’s exceptional artistic excellence but also served as a moving and dynamic “cultural calling card” of Russia.
