Michael Thalmann

Performed on several occasions in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Austria, Algeria, Belgium and England. He has recorded for the Swiss national radio (DRS2) and Swiss national Television (SFDRS), both as a soloist and as a chamber music partner of various renowned instrumentalists and singers.

He studied at the Musikhochschule Bern, where he received an instrumental diploma as a concert pianist in 1992.

Then Michael took masterclasses with S.Dorenski and R.Kehrer at the Mozarteum Salzburg. The outstanding Liszt specialist Leslie Howard teached and furthered him in London, where Michael made his Début under the aegis of the British Liszt Society in 1993.

In the same year, he was invited to study with Karl-Ulrich Schnabel, Leon Fleisher and Dimitrj Bashkirov among others at the "Fondazione InternazionaleTheo Lieven per il Pianoforte" (Cadenabbia/talien), where he also had classes in Lied-accompaniment with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. This has been a most important musical experience for him.

1997 he made his Wigmore Hall Début in London.
