PERCOSSA

Four astoundingly brilliant proponents of percussion: PERCOSSA.

PERCOSSA performances have just about everything: dance, acrobatics, shadow plays, pantomime, magic – accompanied by virtuoso percussion playing. This is why their art is sometimes referred to as “wordless theatre”, although a production can also contain circus elements and is occasionally likened to a rock concert.

The founders of PERCOSSA started up as street theatre in the south of France at the end of the 1980s. Ten years later, established theatres were giving space to the conservatoire-trained professional musicians: they debuted their theatre programmes with Rhythmix in 1998, and by 2006 they were being hosted in Taiwan, to incredible receptions. Their anniversary “Ten Years Off the Streets” tour in 2008 played to full houses and enthusiastic critical acclaim in Europe and Asia.
