WDR Symphony Orchestra is the great orchestra of the biggest broadcasting company in central Europe: called West DeutscherRundfunk and based in Cologne.Leading members of WDR Symphony Orchestra regular play and record chamber music. The orchestra has its own chamber music subscription series in the concert hall of the broadcasting house of WDR. All the concerts are recorded and broadcasted in the classical music radio channel WDR 3.

After the great success with all the symphonies by Johannes Brahms with WDR Symphony Orchestra under chief conductor Jukka-PekkaSaraste at the Beijing Music Festival in October 2015, the WDR Symphony Orchestra Chamber Players focus on the chamber music for bigger ensembles by Brahms like the Sextetts and Quintetts. It is also planned to record these pieces for the label Pentatone on CD.
