Vladimir Rumyantsev was born in 1987 to a musical family. His grandfather was a violinist who graduated from Odessa Conservatory. He continued on to teach at Stavropol Music College.

Mr. Rumyantev's father, Oleg Rumyantsev, was an acclaimed pianist. He graduated from Saratov Conservatory and taught at Stavropol Music College and Gnessin Moscow Special Music School. He went on to perform around the world, including China, France, and Germany.

During his school years, Mr. Rumyantsev studied with his father extensively. His mother also graduated conservatory in Saratov and worked at the music college. At the age of five, Mr. Rumyantsev gave his concert debut, and at seven he won first prize in the Glinka competition in Moscow.

As a soloist, Mr. Rumyantsev has performed in the halls of the Moscow Philharmonic, the Rostov-on-Don Philharmonic, the Stavropol Philharmonic, in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, and, at the Moscow House of Music. He has performed under the baton of celebrated conductors like Valery Gergiev, Mikhail Khokhlov, Boris Gruzin, Victor Afanasiev, and Alexei Repnikov. He also toured extensively with conductor Georgy Garanian's jazz ensemble.

Mr.Rumyantsev has participated in numerous festivals, including the Baltic Sea Festival in Stockholm (2007-9), Ballet Russes in Boston (2009) where he performed alongside Professor Elena Sorokina in a piano duo, International Keyboard Institute and Festival (2017,2018) and in the 2014, the Golden Mask Festival, where he performed in the opening concert at the Bolshoi Theatre.

Mr. Rumyantsev is in active collaboration with the Mariinsky ballet with which he has performed at Covent Garden, the Stanislavsky Theatre, the Mariinsky Theatre, Bolshoi Theatre, Cardiff Opera House, The Royal Opera Theatre in Oman, The Gergiev Festival in Mikkeli and in the Baden Baden Opera house. After receiving his degree from the Gnessin Moscow Special School for Music as a student of M. Khokhlov in 2004, he continued his studies at the Moscow Conservatory under the mentorship of Prof. Sergey Dorensky. While attending the Moscow Conservatory, he also received instruction from Alexander Bahchiev, Nikolai Lugansky, Andrey Pisarev, Elena Sorokina and Pavel Nersessian.

In Russia and a number of nearby countries, Mr. Rumyantsev has played an impressive amount of concerts. He gave his solo performances in the Moscow Philharmonic, Rostov-on-Don Philharmonic, Stavropol philharmonic, Kislovodsk Philharmonic, The Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Moscow International Art Center, Dzintari Concert Hall in Jurmala Latvia, and the Leila Gilde (Great Guild) in Riga Latvia. In 2002, Mr. Rumyantsev toured in China, with his father, Oleg.

Mr. Rumyantsev is also a laureate of many prestigious competitions and awards, including the First International Nutcracker Music Television Competition (Moscow), The International Piano Competition in Moscow where he received The President's award, the Alfred Schnittke International Piano Competition in Hamburg , the "Ricardo Vines" International Piano Competition, Heida Hermanns International Piano Competition, the Enschede piano Competition , and the Val Tidone International Piano Competition and many more.

After completing his Masters Degree at Mannes School of Music in New York in 2016 as a student of Prof. Pavlina Dokovska, Mr. Rumyantsev finished the Professional Studies Degree program at Mannes and graduated in the Spring of 2018. During his studies at Mannes, he performed with the Mannes Orchestra as the winner of the 2015 Concerto Competition.

In New York he has been a featured artist at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, the German Consulate, Le Poisson Rouge, The Frick Museum, the Union Club, and the Metropolitan Club. He has also presented solo recitals at the American Yacht Club in Rye, International Keyboard Institute and Festival and the Young Musicians Forum in Schenectady.

Now, Mr. Rumyantsev teaches many students from prestigious preparatory music schools in New York City. With a quickly growing studio, he is actively working on his CD, solo concerts, and collaborations with theaters.
