Hailed as "poetic" by The Daily Telegraph, praised for her Chopin interpretation which "mixed excitement with eloquence" by the Gramophone Chopin Express, French pianist Hélène Tysman first broke out onto the international music scene as a laureate of the 16th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. A few years earlier she had been awarded First Prize at Darmstadt Chopin Piano Competition and was prizewinner of several international competitions in England, Germany, China and the United States. She is also a laureate of the Georges Cziffra Foundation in Senlis (France) and the Chopin Foundation in Hanover.

A graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, she went to study in Germany with Grigory Gruzman, her mentor for nearly ten years at Hamburg and Weimar Hochschulen.

Since then, she performs as a soloist and in chamber music in Europe as well as in Israel, Morocco, Russia, Asia, South of America and United-States. Among the most prestigious venues where she has played are the Hamburg Laeiszhalle, die NeueWeimarhalle, the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall, La Cité de la Musique, with orchestras such as the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the Russian Chamber Philharmonic St. Petersburg, the Minnesota Orchestra, the North Czech Philharmonic Teplice Orchestra, collaborating with conductors Christoph Warren-Green, Mark Russell Smith and Antoni Wit.

Highlights of Hélène’s future engagements include performances in Brazil, United-States, Poland, Germany, France (Salle Gaveau) and a French tour for the JMF (Jeunesses Musicales de France).

She is regularly invited to appear on radio programmes and released three CDs for Oehms Classics (two Chopin solo recordings) and Indésens Records (Schumann, with the soloists of the Orchestre de Paris).

Attracted toward wider artistic horizons, Hélène shares the stage with celebrated French actor Francis Huster in a program mixing Chopin and Musset and created a show on Poe and Debussy with the multi-disciplinary artist Yanowski.
