China NCPA Orchestra, 2021

Tour Dates
  • 10 April - 17 April, 2021

From 10 to 17 April 2021, China NCPA Orchestra, one of China’s leading orchestras, will embark on an extensive China tour under the baton of LÜ Jia with violinist Siqing Lu, soprano SONG Yuanming and tenor WANG Chong, visiting Nanjing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Changsha, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

For over a decade, the NCPA Orchestra has been the proud resident orchestra of the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA), making this magnificent venue in the capital the centerpiece of its artistic activities. While they have toured internationally on a regular basis and have appeared on stages in major European and American cities, they have rarely appeared in other cities in China, and fans outside the capital have rarely had the opportunity to see their passionate and energetic stage presence.

The repertoire of this tour is a reflection of the originality of National Center for the Performing Arts: from the orchestra’s excellent commissioned new works in recent years, such as the Chinese composer Julian Yu’s “Evolution” and ZHAO Jiping’s Violin Concerto No. 1 to Bruckner Symphony No. 6 in A major and Brahms Symphony No. 3 in F major will give audiences a chance to witness German and Austrian works that the orchestra is proud to perform.

A magnificent music journey combining East and West, highlighting the overwhelming beauty of Chinese music in a unique way.
